Great piece of gear! Super light and comfortable. Good athletic fit.
5 foot 10, 172 pounds, old slightly lumpy male. Size chart was spot on for me, selected XL for a loose fit over a bamboo blend long or short sleeved tee. Shipping was included and prompt from Utah to me in northern Nevada. Personal preference is for hood tensioner to be below my neck and not to one side, but still much better for me than a simple thin short cord with knotted ends that would be very difficult to tie/untie with cold or wet fingers.
Very useful purchase!
Time will tell how stitching and fabric will hold up under use, I will buy again as needed.
I wanted to leave a review for the original Squak grid fleece hoodie. I purchased one a few months ago but have been using it much more recently as the temperatures have gotten colder. This is now my go-to midweight layer for most of my outdoor activities. It's also great as a layer over a T-shirt just for around the house on cooler days. It has become my favorite mid layer for a few reasons. First, it is super comfortable. The fleece is cozy and the stretchy so it kind of molds to you and moves well with your body. I find it snug but not tight. I am 5 feet 9 inches and about 155 pounds and the medium is a perfect fit for me.I If you don't like clothing snug, I suggest sizing up one size. Another great feature is the hood. If I am working in the field and conditions get colder, I pull the hood over my ball cap and cinch down the shockcord to lock it in place on my head. This has been a game changer as I work in conditions that change abruptly during the course of the day and benefit from a layer that is multifunctional. The super functional hood eliminates the need for me to pull out a beanie. I can just hood up and get on with my work. The thumbloops are also a great feature allowing me to continue working and keeping my hands warm without need to get gloves out. The hoodie can easily be layered under a hard shell during windy days or even a puffy jacket if conditions get really cold. Overall this layer is perfect for me as I spend time working and recreating outside in Central California. My overall philosophy of use for the hoodie is as a winter base layer that can be used in a variety of temperatures and conditions. I highly recommend the Squak grid fleece hoodie!
Very exciting to get the V2 alpha after a long (feeling) wait. The torso and hood are very comfortable, the face drawcord is nicely positioned. Unlike lots of other hoodies it'll be nice that the neckline with the hood up is off your face. 90gsm seems like a perfect weight/warmth so far on a 40-50F day. I'm 6' 167lb with longer arms, the medium is a good fit for a base layer. Arms are a tad shorter then I'd prefer but probably perfect for most people. If I wanted anything underneath this (but why?) I'd have to size up to the large. The red is BRIGHT without being obnoxious. And since hunting season is here now that's just fine.
Thank you!
