I lived in it! I picked up the Classic Microgrid fleece hoodie last summer for my thruhike of the Arizona Trail. As the title states, I lived in that hoodie. From end of the day around 5:30-6 or 7pm I put on the hoodie, relaxed in it, slept in it, hiked the first hours of the morning in in it. Usually spending about 15 hours a day in it and I loved it. By incorporating the hoodie into my layering system, I rarely needed to touch my puffy. In a nutshell, the Classic is wonderful. When I returned to Alaska from Arizona I ordered a second one, it's a main staple in my life now, love it!
Squak's mission resonates with both my personal values and my view of the outdoors. I believe that getting outside, whether to practice a sport or simply enjoy nature, should be accessible to everyone, regardless of athletic ability or social background. Too many gear brand focus primarily on elite-level athletes, which often leaves everyday outdoor enthusiasts without equipment that is truly optimised for their needs and activities. The right gear can be the difference between a memorable, enjoyable experience, and a barrier that prevents people from getting outside at all.
I never write reviews but felt compelled to write one on this piece. I’d happily pay $90-$100, the quality is that good. Super breathable but the fabric is still substantial. They even sent a sticker and a handwritten note. i’m really stoked I found this company in my research for a grid hoodie. i’d buy another one of these in a heartbeat. just buy one, i can tell you right now you’re not going to be disappointing. i’d give over 5 stars if i could. thanks guys.
I’m really impressed with my new Squak hoodie! The fit is perfect and super comfortable, not too loose or tight. I took it on a very windy 15 km trek and it performed incredibly well. It kept me warm under a shell and cool when I wore it on its own, perfect for those unpredictable shoulder season days. Excellent balance of warmth, breathability, and fit. Definitely my new go-to layer!
This hoodie has been my ride or die this year. It has come on all adventures...from teaching my kids to ski in the bitter cold, sweaty runs uphill in the cold, post cold plunging, to summer canoe trips. It is so light and small to shove in the bottom in my pack but keeps me seriously toasty when I need it to. I LOVE that I get a breeze through the material so even when I'm sweaty (and normally I'd shed a layer), I don't have to stop and pull it off. It's a 10/10 for me.
I've placed a few orders through Squak for myself and my partner over the years. Your companies' ethos, goal of making high quality but accessible gear, and that it was born from a love of trail running are all super appealing. I put gear through the ringer and your products have been amazing. I rocked the Squak merino hoodie at UTMB this year in awful weather, and it saved my race. Hardrock is coming this year!
Love this light weight piece for my backcountry camping needs. True to size with enough room to layer. It kept me warm on the coldest alpine summer nights! Glad that I can buy a made in the USA hoodie like this.
This is by far the best mid-layer I've tried. I've used it on countless backpacking trips and long ski days, and it never lets me down. It keeps you surprisingly warm for being so thin and comfortable. Highly recommend!
This is such a versatile layer, I wear it at my desk, running, biking, camping, hiking, in the car, playing with the kids, etc. It adapts to every activity and just regulates your temp and keeps you dry even with you get active. I can’t say enough good things about the build quality.
I’d been eying a grid fleece hoodie for a while now and finally decided on Squak. I couldn’t be happier with that decision. Amazing quality, warm but light and breathable. Just all around great gear. Can’t recommend enough.
I now have 2 and there is rarely a day that I don't wear one. I have a policy of not washing both at the same time so I always have one available.
I moved to Utah 4 years ago, and I love that Squak is based in Utah and supporting the outdoor community. The mission statement resonates with me because I want everybody to connect with the outdoors; mother nature has given me so much in life, and I think if everybody were to experience the magic of the mountains, the world would be a better place!
I love the new Woolie! It’s so soft and so comfortable. It’s by far my favorite, Squak knows how to make the best of the best!
I honestly really love Squak gear and can’t rave about this company enough. I wear my fleece on every backpacking trip (Grand Canyon, lost coast, desolation wilderness) and plan on wearing them for my upcoming (Catalina, PCT maybe!!). I love how personable the company is (always write handwritten notes on shipping paperwork) and the quality of the items/price is amazing!!

I have a colleague who recently introduced me to Squak after many conversations regarding the exclusivity of similar brands. Once I got to feel and see the product I was hooked, and have converted from all other gear I was researching. Additionally, after getting to connect with Hamilton - the vision and goals of Squak are something that are uber-inspiring to me, so being a life-long fan is now the goal.
I heard about the Squak hoodie through a friend (I actually live in the Issy Alps next to Squak mountain). It’s the perfect tech hoodie for all types of outdoor adventures. I personally use it for my early morning runs up Squak or Tiger mountain.The hoodie is surprisingly warm considering how light the fabric is and the hood with a synch cord is the perfect design for keeping warm in really cold temps.I purchased the Tiger orange color and Bullit blue for my wife.This hoodie has become one of my favorite pieces of gear and I’m planning to purchase another so I can have two in the rotation! 10/10 tech hoodie.
