The Alpha Squak V2 is a lightweight, versatile layer designed for outdoor enthusiasts. The Polartec Alpha Direct fabric was created in 2012 and is a result of the U. S. Military and Polartec combining their expertise to create a high-performance fabric.

What's new in V2: This updated version features gender-specific sizing for a better fit and a bottom hem to help keep the hoodie in place during movement.

With exceptional thermal efficiency, the Alpha Squak V2 keeps you warm in colder conditions without the bulk. Its breathable fabric ensures optimal body temperature regulation, preventing overheating during high-intensity activities. It wicks moisture away effectively, keeping you dry and comfortable even during long adventures.

The Alpha Squak V2’s lightweight and packable design makes it perfect for ultralight backpacking, while its versatility allows it to shine as a standalone layer or a mid-layer under a shell. Quick-drying, it's ideal for multi-day trips or those unexpected rain showers. The soft, comfortable feel against your skin enhances all-day wearability, while the durability of Polartec Alpha Direct fleece means it’s built to handle rugged outdoor use.

Whether you're backpacking, climbing, or just exploring the outdoors, the Alpha Squak V2 offers the superior performance you can rely on.

Turn your garment inside out, wash gently with cool water and mild detergent. Air-dry when you can, or use low/no heat in the dryer. Skip the bleach, softeners, high heat, or dry cleaning — your gear’s got enough adventure as it is.

You can return any item within 30 days of delivery as long as it’s unused, in original condition, and has the tag still attached.

Best lightweight hoodie ever

The alpha material is unlike anything I’ve ever worn. It is both thick and soft and also so thin it almost doesn’t feel like it’s there. Somehow the temperature regulation is perfect. I can walk outside in cool fall and I’m never cold. At the same time I can hold my kids by the fire and I’m never sweating. The versatility is just amazing, 10/10 recommend.

Perfect experience, near perfect alpha pullover fo my use.

5 foot 10, 172 pounds, old slightly lumpy male. Size chart was spot on for me, selected XL for a loose fit over a bamboo blend long or short sleeved tee. Shipping was included and prompt from Utah to me in northern Nevada. Personal preference is for hood tensioner to be below my neck and not to one side, but still much better for me than a simple thin short cord with knotted ends that would be very difficult to tie/untie with cold or wet fingers.
Very useful purchase!

Time will tell how stitching and fabric will hold up under use, I will buy again as needed.

It's here!

Very exciting to get the V2 alpha after a long (feeling) wait. The torso and hood are very comfortable, the face drawcord is nicely positioned. Unlike lots of other hoodies it'll be nice that the neckline with the hood up is off your face. 90gsm seems like a perfect weight/warmth so far on a 40-50F day. I'm 6' 167lb with longer arms, the medium is a good fit for a base layer. Arms are a tad shorter then I'd prefer but probably perfect for most people. If I wanted anything underneath this (but why?) I'd have to size up to the large. The red is BRIGHT without being obnoxious. And since hunting season is here now that's just fine.
