Dawn is when it all begins. It's when the day unfolds, shoes get laced, packs get filled, and the thrill of being alive another day sets in. Whether you're casting a fly over a crystal-clear stream or setting out early to bag a peak, there's something undeniably magical about mornings.
But Dawn isn’t just a time of day. Dawn is a person. She’s a mom—an Idaho mom at that! She’s an outdoor enthusiast who loves to ski. Dawn is you, she’s me, and she’s anyone balancing a busy life while always finding time to escape to the mountains. And when she does, by golly, she doesn’t need three hoods from all those layers!

Exceeded expectations. So cozy and cute
Love the crewneck, do not love the women's color selection. It's hard to believe anyone in outdoor apparel is still gendering colors but sadly Squak is not alone. The Dawn is yet another fine example of fashion-type colors in the women's department while the men's department gets all the practical options. By practical I mean WORKWEAR. Colors that can stand up against mud and grime whether it be in a forest or a shop/garage. I'm sure it was not anyone's intention to be sexist with the Dawn but here we are. I am 5'3", normally wear a women's small. Needed a dark color that would NOT show every speck of dirt, so I ordered men's navy in size small. Bit sloppy fit, but it'll do. I hope to see a broader range of colors (like the hoodie!), in future seasons of the Dawn. I'm guessing there are people shopping for men's fit wishing they could get be sporting a lighter colored Dawn. In the meantime, I'll keep wearing my Squaks as workwear.
As always, so comfortable! As someone who overheats quickly I love this layer because I can pop it on to stay warm, but don't immediately start to overheat when I go indoors. Also, the color is beyond gorgeous. I got three compliments on it the first day I wore it to work!

I'm a huge fan of the grid fleece hoodies, but it's so nice to have one for layering when I don't need a hood... and I've gotten several comments on this one! The color is great!

I packed light when traveling to see family for thanksgiving and am so glad I brought my dawn crewneck fleece because I essentially wore it every day, whether it was to walk the dog, bake pies, hike, you name it. It barely took on any odor and was much warmer than I expected. The Pacific Northwest is notorious for variable weather so it was nice to have a cozy layer to wear under rain jackets or by itself. Back home in Montana I wear it under my puffy most days. I’m eager to see how it holds up on snowy days. The thumb hole has a nice reinforced fabric and the sleeves are plenty long for my arms. I sometimes miss having the pocket, but it’s not really an issue.
