Cozy and warm, slim in the arms

This is my first experience with Alpha fabric and wow, it is indeed warm and cozy. The hoodie is well made and a beautiful mossy green color. The cut is fairly close to my body, especially in the arms (I ordered a size S and am 125 lbs and 5'3''). I could layer a thin long-sleeve shirt under it but not much more than that. The cuffs are fairly snug and you can't push them up your arms very far. These are all good attributes if you want a garment that fits close to your body without a lot of extra baggy fabric! Size up if you want to be able to put lots of layers underneath or if you like a loose fit.

Alpha fleece review

I absolutely ADORE squak mountain co. And all of its products and was SUPER STOAKED when they came out with an alpha fleece. I was testing gear for my AT thru hike qhen it came out and I snagged it to bring on the first half of my thru hike. I loved how light it is and how breathable the material is while I was hiking in chillier weather. Even tho Inwas cold, I was sweating but I didn't overheat with it on. It was perfect for the first half of the thru hike as the warmer weather was around and as I entered the whites and Maine I swapped it for the grid fleece camp dress and that worked out perfectly. The alpha fleece is much more affordable than other brands that sell alpha hoodies but does not skimp on quality. I do wish it had the kangaroo pouch like the regular hoodies, tho some ultralighters would disagree. Maybe it could be an option to add it if you wanted to order a custom one? Just an idea. Overall loved loved loved the product. Would love an alpha beanie!

Perfect PNW spring layer!

I always struggle with overheating while hiking in the spring (it's chilly when you start, gets super hot and sweaty in the middle so you take off layers, only to freeze one moment later). This Maverick Alpha has been doing the trick for me! Comfortable, light and breatheable, but warm enough to provide comfort! This is my first time with this fabric and I was worried about how it might hold up, but I've been satisfied so far!
