Reach the Peak
The RTP Wind Shell (Reach the Peak) is built to be your reliable, multipurpose layer, light enough to disappear in your pack, yet always ready when the weather starts acting like it hasn’t had a snack since the last set of switchbacks. You trail nerds know how much conditions can shape the day. From summit-ridge winds to surprise summer storms, we designed the RTP Shell to expand your comfort range, letting you stay out longer and enjoy it more. It’s a versatile companion that keeps you moving with confidence, no matter what (well, mostly no matter what), the trail throws your way.
Technical Details
The RPT Wind Shell is built with an ultralight 29 GSM, 10D × 10D ripstop nylon engineered for those rad adventures in unpredictable weather. The fabric uses a 500T high-density weave to create a smooth, durable surface that resists abrasion without adding weight. A water repellent finish on the exterior causes light rain and mist to bead and shed, while an interior coating boosts wind resistance and adds structure to the ultralight yarns.

This is so light and packs up so small - it's perfect to basically just always have handy as an extra layer! And it's going to be my go-to for summer backpacking instead of a full rain coat. I would say it runs a little bigger/looser than my other squaks, but I don't mind the extra room for layering. I probably could have sized down though still!
This jacket is perfect for layering in cold temp. It folds really small in own pocket ,making it great to carry in hydration pack, belts or even running pants pocket. Super lightweight making it convenient to bring on all your runs/hike/walk.
Fits true to size, no need to size up. I did size up for my classic Squak Grid Fleece Hoodie (which I love )
I found the Size chart very accurate and helpful on both the Squak Wind Shell and the classic Squak grid fleece hoodie. The hood fits over my hat.
Perfect to pair with my classic grid fleece hoddie (mmh I need to buy now the purple color to match my wind breaker!! Don’t you think?)
This would make an awesome present for a runner/hiker/walker that has everything !
I love to support a local company. They have great customer service and fast delivery.
Great lightweight jacket for our rainy weather. I took it for a run in the atmospheric river. I’d say it’d probably work better as a packable hiking jacket than for a run as it does not have armpit zippers for ventilation and it got too warm. The material can take a downpour but not for too long so I think it’s better for a misty day or light rain, or as a wind breaker.
Hi Karen, it's excellent that this is a great lightweight jacket! We appreciate your detailed input—it sounds like it works best as a packable hiking jacket or for lighter rain/mist, as the lack of armpit zippers can make it too warm for high-output running.
